Definition

A leasing arrangement in which the aircraft is provided plus at least one pilot. Under a wet-lease arrangement, the aircraft is normally operated under the AOC of the lessor.

Note

A wet lease is typically utilized during peak traffic seasons or annual heavy maintenance checks, or to initiate new routes. When an air carrier provides less than an entire aircraft crew, occasionally the wet lease is referred to as a damp lease.
