ATFM slot swapping
|Term||ATFM slot swapping|
An application that allows airlines to prioritise flights by exchanging the slot of one flight with the slot of another.
Initially limited to flights within the same airline, it now gives airspace users the opportunity to exchange the departure order of any two flights from different airlines penetrating the same constraint (airspace volume, arrival airport). This allows AUs, within commercial agreements, to reduce the delay of a commercially sensitive flight at the cost of another flight.
