Some correspondence with EUROCAE ED-99/RTCA DO-272 cannot be established using “core” AIXM 5.1.1. However, AIXM 5.1.1 includes an extension mechanism. The following extensions are required.

Furthermore, a potential "Geo" extension may be foreseen to capture items that are of a pure geographical nature e.g. water bodies. So far, no work has been done in regards to this potential extension.

The relationship between the extensions is visualised below. In summary:

  • all of the extensions extend AIXM;
  • the AM, ASRN and "Geo" extensions make use of the AMGen extension.
